Ok, went out and put a few more miles on the rebuilt engine today and today it sounded pretty much like stock. All the noise I thought I was hearing was gone. Guess I was just stressed out or something. So forget any comments I made about the engine being louder than stock, its not. Anyway, my comment with respect to power output remains the same. The PAW SSI 10300 cam which is the standard 204/214 (at .050) split duration, .448/.472 lift cam that virtually evrey manufacturer makes, feels just like a stock 401 cam. Its not making less power, but it doesn't make noticably more power either. Its feels about the same as stock. The specs on the cam card are identical to the Edelbrock performer cam which most people are probably more familer with.
