Towing Spec

I was looking around the technical info and couldn't find an article relating to towing specs for a J10. Does anyone know if one is out there, and if not what I can safely tow with the stock bumper fitting? I've got a '79 360/TH400/QT with 31.5". I'm specifically interested in tongue weight and max load, but I'm also interested in real-world experiences, too.

Used to tow a 24' travel trailer with tne original bumper hitch on my J4000. When a friend bought the trailer, the guy selling it to us (at an RV lot) wasn't going to let us take it because the bumper at that point was rusted and bent. I told him that if the bumper could take the 3 of us bouncing on it- total weight over 700 lbs (he was 300+ himself), It could take a 700 lb. tongue wt. The bumper held and I pulled it about 10 different times.
