Flip Up Back Window?

I remember some talk awhile ago about trying to convert to some kind of flip up tailgate window.Has anybody had any luck with the idea?

My father fabricated one of those when I was very very young for his 75 Cherokee. He put hinges on the roof somehow, and put clasps on the tailgate with locks so nobody could get in the truck. I am pretty sure the window was made out of plexiglass. It was neat from what I remember of it. I know he liked it much better.
