Anybody go to a *regular* shifter on J20 with a 727 and 208? & where did you get your shifter if you did.. will one from a 231 work?

The previous owner of my Chief put a TJ shifter and 208 in it. It isn't pretty but it is functional (long slice in the hump cover for it.

At least those are the only ones that i have seen them on. It was the 80's 258, manual trans and 208.

My 81 J10 with a T176 has the floor shift.
EDIT: I amm not sure if there is clearance or not with an auto tranny. I think that the reason for the under seat shifter.
