I was at my local pick-a-part today looking for a TFI bracket. I noticed that alot of GM products have air compressors mounted in the engine compartment. I wonder if any one who know if one could be used for on board air?

Use a York A/C compressor. Your Cherokee should have one. If you want to keep your A/C, mount another one in there. They can be found in alot of FSJ's, and Bronco's. I havent seen them in anything else, but Ill bet theyre in other things too. And yes, these things are good for the job. My A/C never worked, so Im going to turn it into on-board-air. The "Trail-Head"(I think thats the name) on board air compressor is just a York A/C compressor with an electric motor attatched to it. The had reviews on it on off-road.com for quite awhile. Here are some writeups on on-board-air conversions for the York A/C Compressor:

I hope this helps!

Where and how is the best place to mount a second air compressor? Pictures would be great!
