Hey all. I THINK I have a carbuerator problem. At least, it looks like the carb is involved in some way. Here's whats happening:

After a period of usage, I'd say about 6 or 7 miles, the motor starts to smoke. Turns out the "smoke" is something dripping onto the intake manifold, and everywhere else, underneath the carb. When it burns, it smells like oil, but I didn't think oil went to the carb? Whatever this "substance" is, its leaking underneath the throttle body, and has everything underneath covered in the stuff. Especially this one hose coming from underneath the throttle body. Any help guys? Whats goin on? The Chero runs fine, but its just burnin whatever, on the intake manifold, and any hot parts surronding it. My father and my hypothesis is that the manifold is getting too hot for some reason. But that still doesn't explain why something is dripping. TIA!!

pcv valve working?if it is stuck open it could be sucking oil.the hose goes to the base of the carb.
also,is there a bunch of oil in your air cleaner?that could be a sigh of pcv problems also(or blowby) :(

... First you need to assertain what the leaking stuff is. Get a smear on a napkin. If it looks nearly black but turns red it is gasoline. The carburetor may be boiling due to the exhaust heat riser (in the passenger side header-pipe on V-8s) sticking closed and putting heat in the manifold and carburetor for to long time wise.

;) Good Luck and CUL.. ds..
