1)What is a slip yoke and what are the advantages and disadvantages of them compared to a fixed yoke.
2)Did the dana 300's come with a slip yoke?
3)What is a slip yoke eliminator for?

slip yoke is where the slip area for the rear drive shaft is at the rear of the t-case. So it can slide in and out from there. When ever the axle moves up or down the drive shaft needs to get shorter or longer. The "slip joint" is what allows it to do this.
D300's in CJ's came with a slip yoke I think, not sure.
slip yoke eliminator gets rid of the slip yoke, so you can put the slip area into the drive shaft, which is MUCH stronger.
EDIT: just checked on D300, it seamms it camme with a standard fixed yoke in back from what I can see.
Andm no FSJ's ever came with a slip yoke.

I am thinking about swapping in a dana 300, in place of my 219, and the seller said it had a slip yoke. So can I have a slip yoke, and keep my stock drive shaft?
I will be lifting it around 8in so I figure the slip yoke will keep me from having to extend my d-shaft is this a bad idea?

a D300 wont work for you unless you put a passenger side drop front axlein. And then its a very tight fit. Scotty tried this before and wasnt able to do it, do to space constraints.
