how did you snap a ROCKER ARM Bolt? Should have been a nut on a Stud. If the Stud broke you are in trouble. Not sure I think the head will have to come off, since you drove it you can count on the lifter laying in the bottom of the Valley somewhere, TOTAL oil pressure loss would have been the result as well. If you left the push rod in place with the rocker non-operational I would expect it to be in a bad way as well. Not sure how any of this could have happened. Torque spec on the rockers is only 27 Ft LBS, stud or nut would never break or strip at that. Good Luck!! ;)

Crazy, you slippin' today?? ;)

'75 and up trucks switched to the non-adjustable bridge-style rockers tightened down with a rocker-arm bolt; only the '71-'74's used the stud and rocker-arm nut.

s'Ok; but you are right; if he drove with that pushrod out, that lifter may have popped out the bore. Only saving grace may be that the lifter base has mushroomed slightly, keeping it stuck in the bore.

Heck, replace the bolt, slip everything back together, and see if it runs with oil-pressure. If any damage is done, that won't do it any worse.
