I like river beasts front pre-runner bar/guard and would like to fab one like it as there are no companies making them.I have looked at the website and I am mind boggled on the mounting tabs. The main pipe with the mounting tabs looks good with it so close to the bumper, but I cant see the tabs pointing up or down with the bumper bolts going through them?If they were pointing straight back they would be stabbing in the bumper(any one with me on this)What am I missing?

Maybe he slotted the tubes to slide the head of the bolt through the tube and then back through the bumper?

OK... I played this one easy for mounting with no drilling on the bumper at all!!
I first made the bumper tubes to the length desired....
once I decided on placement... I marked the tubes were the existing bumper bolts were at...
I then drilled 1/2" holes in the tubes ( this gave me a lil margin for error)
I took out the corresponding bumper bolts and took 1.25" grade 8 3/8" bolts with washers and fed them thru from the backside and used and oversized washer against the outside of the bumper before locking it down with a nut.
Then I took the tube... lined it up on the bolts sticking thru... stablized it...then proceeded to tackweld the nuts to the tubing....
Once tacked... I unscrewed, removed and welded the nuts completely.... and reinstalled both sides
Then I created the hoop from 1.25" tubing..
Here are the dimensions I used...
the hoop is 22" from the center of the bends and each bend is 125 degrees. It will hold 3 6" lights
I left alot of leftover tubing to adjust the height to my liking.... and angled it to compliment the angle of the grill....
It took about 2 hours total time to build....

THIS IS ONLY A LIGHT BAR!!!! not built to take a hit from a tree..
I do have more ideas on a better design for protection and strength.... ;)

OK thanks mine will just be for looks and lights also.Again yours looks great and I have always liked the prerunner bars.I looked through the N-Fab catalog and will probably try to fab a rear one also. They have some good stuff for ideas.Their rear bars have a little piece that sticks out in the middle above the license plate that would work good for putting things on the roof or for a place to stand when washing your rig.
