i have a small 2d (holley) injection system....i am getting ready to upgrade motors (454 on the way) and was wondering if there is anything i can do to keep this system...can i use a tbi assembly off of a 454 and run it with the holley ecu??? i also read in a performance book that you can add another holley tbi unit to the set up...(using a dual quad intake)...anybody have any ideas??????

The Holley 2D system can be used with the big block, you just hook the pink wire in the main harness to a 12v source that is hot in crank and run positions and readjust your ECM. Holley says the system can handle 275hp but I have seen it on a dyno on a 320hp small block and it did fine. The Holley throttle body is the same size GM used on their 454 trucks.

I don't know what car this came out of but the 454 but i am sure the HP is around 275. The 454 had low hp #'s because of the long stroke but people buy the 454 for torque.my suggestion would be to sell the holley and use that money (and a little more) and get a injection system for the 454. if you want to keep the holley i don't think it would be real hard to get taken care of.

i wasnt sure the holley ecu would run a different injector...also, i am not sure i can score a whole gm wiring set up....not too many junk yards around here that let you pull your own parts....so you end up paying top dollar for those kinda parts..

its not a car motor...it is a truck block (assuming) because it is coming out of a 73 camper..

Regardless, your Pro-Jection system will work on it.

n omatter what Car, truck, vehicle, camper, van, rv. It will still have only around 275 HP so your system should work i don't see you needing anything different but maybe injectors but if you put in any performance parts you would need one made to handle that. A cam and few other small upgrades really beef up the 454 (if you care about the HP #)

the early projection control box had a switch in side for small block or big block
