So it looks like the front shackles would jsut bolt right on in the rear of the front springs and that the front would bolt right into the frame. ANybody tried it? S'posing it fits, would the front axle need a shim?

You may want to check out this link.

ORC Shackle Reversal (http://www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/susp/elkcahs/)

It was a list of pros and cons to doing it and also explains what effects it has to the vehicle.

I have never done this but I was imagine that it would change the pinion angle. I would recomend if you need to correct it, move the perches and reweld. Reason being a shim can work its way out. Not real fun. I worked with a guy that had a lifted Ford and used blocks in the front. He found out the hard way way it is unsafe. Doing 65 - 70MPH the block slipped out. Unfortunatly, He did not live to tell about it. Neither did the guy he hit.
