My front drive shaft has about 20 - 30 degrees of rotational free play in it when the rig is parked. How bad is this?

What rig do you have? And what transfer case? When I am parked my front shaft rotates freely, but I do have a D20. :D :D . Just need a little more info. Thanks.

Yeah....some more info would tell us a lot. Do you mean just the driveshaft itself, or the axle yoke and t-case yoke too? Cause if it's just the drive shaft I'd tell ya' to replace yo' U-joints, quick fast and in a hurry. If all of it is rotating 20-30 degrees, then you got gear lash in your front axle and something else wrong in you're t-case, neither or which I'd freek out about, but will cause problems in the future. Tell us more the best that you can and I'm sure that you'll have a good $30 worth of knowledge from everyone putting in $0.02 within three days or so.

Sorry guys, I should have known to include that. I don't even know at the moment. I'm going to try to replace the ball joints this afternoon (with info I got off this board! smile.gif ) I'll check them out then.
