Just checking if anyone has done this. If so... Help!
I need to re-connect the ac duct under the steering-wheel (loose), to the duct under the glove-box (attached... can only see the latch with a camera). What positions/movements are necessary for A/B/C to connect these two part together?

Every driver's side duct I have seen, they just slide together.
The bracket/clips on the back are just to hold the AC temp control module, and intermittent wiper module from dangling.
They used velcro on all the ones I've seen.
"A" looks like a broken part?

My 89 does not look like that either. I have had everything out twice now cause the wiper linkage broke.

that may be for something else - like a aux brake controller or something like that:confused:

Hummm... FYI: No broken edges.

Note: Mine is a late 1990 close to the production of 1991. Something unique to a final-like/edition thing?

I've had the duct apart on almost every FSJ I've owned and have never seen clips like those.

The "clips" in your picture have nothing to do with installing the ducts.
The duct pieces just slide together, then a few screws on the driver's side to the bottom of the dash.
The stuff on the backside is simply for mounting the ac temp control module.
Look under your dash for a small 1.5" cube w/ ~8 wires running into it.
Yours is broken and the piece that's broken off is still attached to the duct.
The metal clip hold the little guy up there when it's screwed in.

Thanks Tony!
I'll take another look tomorrow with this in mind.

I've scraped my hands on those "clips" before. I have no idea what they are for, however. The A/C duct just slides together, as everyone else has said.

Christ,
I'm going through this same issue on my 1990. Did you ever figure out the correct orientation of the brackets shown above?
I think from the pic that your temp module is broken (piece A above), but I can't figure out how these are supposed to go either.
If you ever figured this out let me know. I have it connected now in a way that I think it goes, but the temp module hangs down lower than the AC duct. Not sure if that is correct.

You want me to remember this from over a year ago... Really??? :D:p:D
In re-reading the thread... The advice I remember that helped me was from babywag:

Yah, I know it was a stretch. I think I have mine mounted right, but it hangs down further than the duct. I just can't see any other way to mount it.
