My recently purchased stock 1990 GW IS FINALLY RUNNING GREAT after 2 months of tinkering; replaced motor mount; carb kit; replace CTO's once i was able to find them; front brake job; fix rear window, sort of, only works from the dashboard switch; all this while driving it every day back and forth; so, not one to leave well enough alone I am thinking about removeing the cat. converter and replacing with just a straight peice of pipe into the muffler.
Is this worthwhile to improve my performance?
THIS MESSAGE FORUM IS GREAT; I would have never figured out those stinking CTOs otherwise but replacing them sure has made a difference.
any advice is appreciated.
also can't figure out how to include a picture in my sig even though i am fairly computer literate

Guessing that your cat is the original, then replacing it with straight pipe, or even a new cat (depending on your emission laws where you live), will give you another "boost" in performance.

geT RID OF IT, IF YOUR LAWS DON'T REQUIRE IT, IT IS A WASTE ...JUST WAITING TO BE CLOGGED...
i REMOVED MINE AND SAW A NOTICIBLE DIFFERENCE ONLY BECAUSE i BELIEVE IT WAS PARTIALLY CLOGGED...
