I want to apologize at first because this will be long.I took my GW to have the windows tinted today and the rear window gave them a bit of a headache as to how to make it look good.Well I told them the safety switch keeps the window from going up with the tailgate open. But I got to thinking about this small latch arm on the left(driver's)side of the tailgate. It turns out this is the latch arm for the safety switch.BUT IF YOU MOVE THIS ARM TO MOVE YOUR WINDOW IN THE UP POSITION WITH THE TAILGATE OPEN BE SURE TO HAVE HELP AND TO HAVE SOMETHING TALL ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE GLASS.The people that did my tint are outstanding glass people around here(they put the widshield in her too) and they did it the right way the first time.I'm glad I took it to them because she sure looks great with them done.

Same here, I had the gate down and was wiring up a new switch. The next thing I know the window starts to go up or should I say out. I was sure I was going to lose it, but it held on until I could jump out and grab it. I guess I should not have by passed the safety switch.
