you're talking about the rear axle shafts right? an 80-83 Cherokee will for sure, it's a wide track M20. I'm not sure about 80-86 J10s, I think they're a tad wider, and wagoneers in this period use narrow track axles, that aren't wide enough.

J-Trucks have a wider rear axle then front axle. A WT cherokee has a narrower rear axlle then front. Front axles are the same. All wagoneers came with narrow track axles.

Front axles are not all the same. I have two fronts (Pass-side diff) from FSJs and they use different shaft lengths. One axle is about six inches wider than the other (WMS). Both are pre '79. They do not use the same shafts as later models with driver side diff.
'80-'84 fronts are the same (32.12 inches long side, 15.8 inches on the short). Measure from the center of the U-joint cap to the end of the shaft. The stubs should be the same from '74 to '83 on disk brake FSJs (same stub axles can be found on '73-'87 GM 1/2-ton, 9.94 inches) After that the vacume axle came into play and I have no idea, nor do I care to.
For the rear all '80-'83 Cherokee Chiefs have the same shafts.
Hope this helps.

Hi guys,
my fault I ment to say axle shaft length...I was at work and trying to do to many things and chew gum at the same time.I'm now home and measured the shaft. It turns out this retired guy is into FSJs,owns 6 that are on the road.Has a small warehouse of parts. He has some axle shafts(but differnt lenghts)also a manual window kit(I can nowget rid of that pwr window)and who knowes what else.So if anyone is looking for anything I can check it out and report price and condition.

twinpinion: that means one is a WT, one is a NT. I said WT cherokee and j-truck front axles are the same. And that wag or NT cherokees axles are narrower.
