It's a good idea to replace the headlight connector when upgrading, and ceramic is even better. When I did mine, I used bakelite sockets with 18" of aircraft-grade wire and spliced these into completely new wiring with relays. The sockets shown still use the old sockets, and with headlights, the fewer connections the better. If your OEM sockets are not corroded, shouldn't be a problem.

used them on my last wagon, ceramic holds up to the heat better the the plastic ones. I picked up a set of fleabay that were just ceramic leads, plugs only on one end
