The TFI conversion gave me big gains in torque and mileage. This may or may not be related, but I checked my cap/rotor the other day with only 3000 miles on them and noticed some pitting/deposits on the terminals. These are brass terminals on the cap/rotor combo. Anyone know what causes this? I gapped the plugs at .045 if memory serves me correctly, but used old wires that seemed in good condition as I couldn't afford new ones at the time.

BTW, I have seen this same condition on other cars too even with new wires etc.

This is normal. It is caused by the spark jumping the conection. Perfectly fine. ;)

Hnmmmm so what you are telling me is that I am too picky?? Hehehehe. AH well, at least I can worry about something else now! Thanx!

Yep, I noticed my cap and rotor looked like that, only a lot worse. 'Course, I got to thinking - the vehicle was 7 years old and I had never had the cap off....Oh, well...
