Does anyone make a simple charcoal type vent I can just stick on the end of the vent line? Of the for lines that run into the cannister, I'm only using two of the anyway (no EGR and Edelbrock carb).
Any help would be appreciated. I called Summit racing thinking they might know, but no luck.
heres one: Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=593400807&r=0&t=0)
its not mine but maybe that can help(its cheap)

No wonder it takes so long to find anything on ebay! You've got guys selling old parts for $1.00 I guess if it was a super rare part (which would fetch some money of course) it might be worth the time to post, but you can grab a canister from just about any number of vehicles in a yard for about the same price and you don't have to pay shipping. Heck, new ones don't even cost too much from the Zone and such. Just found it kind of strange, but then that's me.

Word has it that K & N makes small vents. Haven't seen them but its worth asking.

I was thinking of this too. The '76-'77 and maybe later Jeep canisters just have three ports. A carb vent, a tank vent, and port to the air-cleaner. According to the '77 TSM carb and tank vent vapor is stored in the cannister and drawn into the intake via a vacuum line to the air-cleaner snorkle. I as thinking of hooking up the line to the carb vent and the line to the air-cleaner and capping off the tank vent. But, I was wondering how long does charcoal last. In other words, will a 25 year old cannister still work? or would I be creating a potential bomb in the engine bay.

The stock late model canister for the Jeep only has 5 connections and none of them have any thing to do with the EGR setup. See post "Gas Tank Exploded" for details ;)
Sorry if I confused any one with this post, there are only four(4) connections to the canister. From left to right Purge(marked Dist),PCV, Tank, Carb Bowl. The connections face the rear of the vehicle.
