I scored a Superwagoneer console today. I found it laying in the back seat of a 84 Grand Wagoneer parked in a field. The guy who sold it to me for $10 didn't have a clue what it was. My question is will that console fit in my 76 J10 once I remove my armrest? Where the floor pans the same as the Kaiser? It was a great Jeep day.

Ok, the more I look at this thing the more questions I have. The armrest is missing as well as whatever lid or pad that goes underneath it to cover the glovebox. Can anyone advise what should be there under the armrest? and how does it open? Also, the bolts that are holding the armrest hinge (Yes, that is still there ) are long, way long. They extend into the glovebox by about 5/8" are those factory? They appear to be painted the same color as the console which is brown. I hope I can bring this console back to life, I need to find an armrest and sharpen up on by fiberglassing skills...which me luck.

Here is a pix of mine in my truck. The Jeep parts manual has a good detailed breakdown of the parts. Maybe you should go back and look for the rest of it.

Blakeusa,
Thanks for the photo, I will be dying mine black as well, the one question I still have is what goes under the armrest. If the armrest is lifted up is there a padded lid or door of some type? This part is missing on mine.
Thanks.....

The console and shifter look like the ones in a Barracuda Formula S a friend had years ago.

I hope these photos show what I'm up against in trying to put this console back together.

Wow, that one photo explains alot. So, if I'm seeing this correctly that large base that the armrest sits on acts as a cover or lid for the glovebox underneath it. Is that correct?

Ok, it looks like I'm going to have to fabricate both the mounting base and center armrest. I'm hoping someone on the forum can help by suppling a good cardboard template or the dimensions. Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks, Scott

Kenall,
I believe so, but I still need the wedge shaped base and "U" shaped armrest.

It was advertised as a '70 :( It turned out to be a typical AMC 360. It barely runs and when it does, it runs like poo, the fuel pump's shot and the compression is nearly non-existant.

Yeah that smogged out pile o'crap can't hold a candle to the 390, heck a 401 can't either.

I've got one good and one broken arm rest support and really would like to hear if somebody reproduces them. Perhaps in fiberglass or something that is stronger than the original plastic. I'd post a picture of one out of the car, but haven't figured out how to do that. I'd be glad to email pix if you contact me at geologyjeep@comcast.net Mr. Ed
