Truck ID

Being new to FSJs and you being the only people I've ever meet who even know that Jeep made trucks, I have questions. This one hopffly will prove simple. What, if any, are the distinguishing external features seperating gladiators amongst themself's. Ext. j-100 compaired to a j-200 compaired to a j-210.

J-100's are Wagoneers and J-200/300/2000/3000/4000 series are trucks.
J-200's(as the rest also) can come in any configuration 1/2 ton, 3/4, 1 ton. Thriftside, Townside etc. The 200 refers to wheelbase length: 120" where the J-300/3000's have a 126" wheelbase.
The later 4000 series have a 132" wheelbase(as did one specific J-3000). Gladiators were only built(named Glads) till 1971 but the BBQ grill(Rhino chaser to some) was dropped in 1970. From 72 on they were just J-Series trucks.
From 74 on the trucks were J-10/J-20's 1/2 ton 3/4 respectively.
For details I suggest getting a few of the factory TSM's for these rigs.
Glad to answer any specific questions about a specific truck...but a run down on all the differences is beyond the scope of this forum, my time and my typing abilities.

Dweezil, spend some time on this site especially the /tech/ section. Lotsa good info there. If ya have some specific question on you Gladiator this is the place to ask but do include at least the year and model.
