My T-case Whines when I put it into 4-low. I have not changed the fluid and I know the po never did. I am going to do that but could that be the problem. Or is that a symptom of it getting tired. Just wondering what everyone else has experienced.
Thanks in advace

MICHAEL, it's going to whine in 4lo because the gears are straight cut.

Cool... I know the fluid needs to be changed. All I know is that it works really well. Thanks for the info.

I think that's a trait found only in gear driven x-cases like the D20 and wouldn't apply to the NP chain driven cases?

the 4-low in the np use a planetary system and the gears are straight cut, the chain only conect the fron end :D

So then on that note. Is it whining because it is normal or that I need more lube or it is tired.

229's whine, too. Mine in my dead 87 did, the whole 3 years I owned it. Never quit, or gave any sign that is was in bad shape. It got sold, and as far as I know, still works good.
