I know I don't get on here very much. Life is very busy for me sometimes. I have a lot going on with the ShortBus lately. Lots of new stuff happening. I am hoping to be mobile in a month or so and have all the other little projects done by around the first of May. Basically I am putting in a new motor trans and t case, new shocks, hydro assist steering, 42/15 Pitbull Rockers, door panels, custom dash and gauges, stereo and grant steering wheel, along with a few other things I can't think of off the top of my head. I am looking for a manual window crank for the tail gate if anyone has one.....what's going on with you guys and your rigs??? :drivin:

Just fixed a leak in my roof, where the rain gutters turn down by the from windshield. still have to put the headliner back in, but first it is elk hunting! my rig is turning out pretty sweet, only a few more things to accomplish on it before I start saving up to get the body work and paint done

Fixed my speedometer! Also, looked under at the rotting exhaust system and just shook my head. Discovered the significant tranfer case leak.

Mine ate the camshaft and I'm trying to decide whether I should just have the 327 rebuilt at this point or swap in a different motor all together:banghead:

Had to move the '81 out from where I live, and the boss let me put it in the back corner of our secure storage lot for now. Had not fired it for almost 4 years:(. 3 dumps of fuel in the carb and a fresh battery and it lit off and kept r:eek:unning.

Hunted up by starkey.. saw 4 cow elk and a calf, but no spikes to shoot at :(.. and had a mule deer stand 50 feet from me for 15 min, I didn't know if I should shoot it or just throw rocks at it!!! took my phone out 4 times and took pics of it! it is amazing how you don't feel the cold when having a staring contest with deer and elk:thumbsup:

Headliner in, no leaks. Got a new drivers side vent cable to put in that will fully mount to my dash like it is supposed to. master brake cylinder is still leaking like a mad beast, even with the new one in:banghead:

New Rancho ES5000 steering stabilizer. Window seals ordered Friday. Looking at tracking down a vacuum leak and upgrading tie-rods.

Would any good condition J10 door do? What year is it? I will check B&K auto salvage next time I am home. What all parts of the door do you need? Just the shell? or all the inside trim and window parts too?

Well I am back again, things just get to busy for an unemployed guy sometimes lol...Hope you all had a great Christmas!!! Been busy working on the Bus, got some new door panels made and the wiring is almost complete, got the motor 90% done, just a few things to tinker with and get a bracket made for my york compressor for on board air and I will be set. Need to get the trans and out and pulled apart, I might have to rebuild it a bit but that has yet to be seen. I went to Pick N Pull and grabbed an overhead brace and put it towards the front and welded on the CB bracket and I some hinges for my glove box door...got my floor pan for the drivers side in the mail, got the brackets for my rear disc brake conversion, still need line and line locks and calipers to finish the job though...

Here is what I did for door panels. I went to the local steel yard and they had some stainless for $6 a sheet. I bought a couple and used them. I used the old door panels to trave out the design and that was a mistake. They didn't turn out as good as I wanted but they aren't horrible either. To attach them, I got some stainless nuts and bolts, 1/4 20. I got the nuts that have a sort of washer on them, more like a lip, drilled holes in the door, and welded the nuts in

Did the same thing for the the new handles

And here they are

I used flat sheets of packing foam on the back of them, I got it for about $5 at U Haul. All I have left is holes for the speakers and to clean them. I am considering triming them out to, but don't think I really need to. I like them the way they are.

I've been sick for so long that I've hardly done anything with any of my vehicles, but I hope that's all behind me now! (definitely will be after the rest of my infected teeth get pulled out!) I'm hoping to sell the 360/T18/NP208 from my '82 Honcho soon so I can start the 290/ax-15/NP208 swap in and have it running by summer (I have an Eagle wagon and '87 MJ to finish doing before that)

Mine ate the camshaft and I'm trying to decide whether I should just have the 327 rebuilt at this point or swap in a different motor all together:banghead:

TH400 or std trans? I have the early adapter ring for 304/360/401 (as well as 290, 343 and 390) or '72 up AMC 6 to TH400 and a 304 flexplate that matches (balanced different than the other AMC V8s) I also have a 327 that was running when pulled (belongs to BMax)
