Looks like a 1940s Dodge 3/4 ton WC52 weapons carrier.

Nice find!

Isn't that an M37? Is that the same as a dodge wat'cha-call-it?

I thought the M37's had the skinnier bed. But I'm open to being wrong.

Looks like a Power Wagon. The engine isn't original, though. Didn't all the Power Wagons come with a flathead six?

Yes, they did.
It would be nice to fit that bed on a j20.:drivin:

Yes it would. Wonder if it's still there.

Nope....it's long gone.

Dodge M37 for sure. I have owned several of them. Engine has been replaced with a V8. The original engine would have been a Dodge 230 flathead 6. Bed is not the standard M37 pickup bed. However, it might be some type of maintenance bed that some of the M37's were fitted with.

You are right about the bed though. It had to have come off of something made much later. The tail lights were typically mounted under the body. There were several variations made, but none with that bed style that I've ever seen. They were pretty much made the same from '51 to '68 with little changes. All had the 230 cui. flat-head six, except the Canadien version. That had a larger 251 cui. engine. So, that "beast" with the V-8 could have been somebody's own creation. (I know that Isreal & Greece did use them for years after the US decommissioned them, so it's possible that it could have been some foreign mutation). That side-step is pretty interesting. The fenders and doors on either of the ones posted are sweet. They were notorious for rusting out under the headlight buckets and out the bottom of the doors. I wish they weren't so far away. They'd fit perfect on my '52 ambulance.

That looks better then a rover, just sand blast it, swap in a new power plant and hit the trails. I always liked the look of the M37 better to even the M715 except for the bed. Someone moves in on every deal I have found so far.
