Hey All,

Curious... how long has it been since you 2 did the swap to hydro-boost? As far as maintenace, anything more/same/less compaired to hydraulic brakes? Any quirks unique to the hydro-boost? Ever had or more problems with brakes locking-up/skidding since the swap? Todd, did you end up having an extra-outlet welded to the stock Wag powersteering resivour? Thanx James smile.gif

P.S. did anyone ever figure a way for an electric back-up pump?

I have had my HB unit now since February of this year...here is the original post:

I originally had installed a 93 Burb PS pump with the dual return line fittings... however I found a leak in the pump and it lean a bit too far over, so I took it out and reverted back to the OWM PS pump... same as Retro93. All you do is run a 'T' fitting inline from the retrun line of the gearbox and the return line from the hydroboost unit back into the pump... I HIGHLY recommend running an inline filter AFTER the 'T' fitting AND a tranny cooler. You would be surprised on the amount of heat generated.

My brakes work better than they ever had... I have had no ill-effects from th HB unit's operation... other than a small leak which can only be fixed by purchasing a rebuilt unit for $156. There are no rebuild kits to buy for these for liability reasons.

I have had no lockups...or ill-manneredness from the HB unit... prior to the install I could barely stop!!! Now it's just as good as my 93 Burb.

I converted my rig to the hydroboost system in January. The only "problem" noted has been a small leak within the HB unit itself. The brakes operate in a smooth and predictable manner. I have experienced no lock ups or uneven braking action.

Again, I would highly recommend this modification.
