I want te remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard. In doing so, I want to remove the knob from the handle which regulates the temperature. It seems to be very tight. As I do not want to break anything I would like to know if I can just pull it off, or is there something securing the knob?

I also want to take off the gearindication scale from the steering column. I see a spring from the backside, but if I press on it with a screwdriver, the housing doesn't come loose.

Can anyone tell me how it is done?

On my '78 the little knob on the temp selector just pops off. I'm pretty sure the '75s are the same.

It may be a little tight, but it should come off.

Check to see if they are attached w/ set screws. I think they should just pop off. Most of mine just fell off
Be careful when putting itback together, the plastic is brittle and will crack EASY!!
