The April issue of 4-Wheel & Off Road magazine has an article about upgrading Delco CS-130 alternators to 140 amps using an "Iceberg" kit. Can anyone tell me if this is the flavor of stock Delco alternator I have in my '87 or not? The manual states that 3 different amp-level alternators were used. Does anyone know how to identify the model and output level by inspection?

After 150,000 miles on the original unit, it's starting to put out less power than it used to. If I'm gonna rebuild it, I might as well use this upgrade if it will fit.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Mike, straying from the fsj-list are we http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif
Anyway...all the Delco alts I've had(granted usually older ones) have had the max amp output stamped into the housing.
