So I have been digging around this site for the last 8 months(6 of them from overseas) and I decided I would finally post on here. I was given a 77 wagoneer from a friend who was leaving the service. I am still not sure if it was a gift or a curse. I am in the process of gathering parts to get it up and running so I can decide if it can be a daily driver. I just want to mention that the amount of information here is amazing. It has given me the courage to tackle the problems that already exist and those that will be heading my way. Anyone in the Lakewood area need a fellow wrencher?

Welcome!
There's about 5 or 6 members on JBLM, and roughly 10 in the south Tacoma area.
What's up with all the AF guys trending towards FSJs? I've bee noticing an influx of ya'll from Buckley, F.E. Warren, Mtn Home, and now, McChord.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a problem by any means, but I'm just wondering if you all saw the AF Chief of Staff driving one at the golf course or something.:p
You need to know that we're gonna want to see some pics of your Wag! Fresh pics are like drugs to us.

Pics will be on their way shortly. I am still trying to get this beast running....atleast well enough to get it home. I cant speak for the rest of the AF, but I have always been a fan of wrenching on whatever I can. If i drove what I see on base, than I would either be in a brand new crewcab of some kind, or some spiffy little fwd crossover/hybrid/frankencar.

Welcome from an old Phantom wrench. The decision on gift/curse is easy--------It is a gift that you will curse at for as long as you own it, and once the bug has gotten hold of you, you won't ever be without one again.

So I had an amazing find a couple of days ago. I decided to swing by the local pickandpull(off Steele(rs) St.) and found myself a working 120 amp cs-140. I was looking for 86-90 caddys for the donor. They had plenty BOP cars for those interested in cs-130s. I am close by and have tools if anyone is heading that way and needs an extra hand. Now if I can figure out the overheating....
