got a 91 gw, want to remove all emissions possiblle. As of now smog pump is not hooked up. I know catcon can come out, what else can I do without, and what do I do with the vac lines, rerouting, hookups ect. looking for extra hp, and mpg. will be installing tfi upgrade this weekend as well. I know theres thousands of post on this topic, but most say take the crap out, but not how too take the crap out. thanks for the help. wonderful board here.

smog pump is pretty straight-forward,just yank it off.same with cat.Other than that there is really only the egr, which wont gain you anything but carb re-jetting problems by removing and the evap emissions(charcoal canister) which also wont gain you anything by removing. If you do want to remove canister to make engine compartment look better just make sure the line from the tank remains open for a vent.as far as the line going to the carb(or pcv)from the tank just unhook and plug

If you take the charcoal cannister out, aren't you supposed to cap the end from the fuel tank rather than leave it open? Just wonderin.

leave the pcv system! you may end up with a pressurized crankcase without it. and then leaking oil seals, etc.

How much can you gain by pulling emissions??? I can figure taking out the cat converter would help but can you screw up how your engine runs without all the emissions out??? I would think the TFI, after market intake and carb would get ya some extra ponies. Good luck smile.gif
