Anybody ever used the www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com) website for their jeep? I've used it with good success on my suburban. It's $20 a year per vehicle, and I wanted to see if anybody else had any luck with it before I spend the dough.
Thanks

I have gone on there and pulled up all the recalls and safety bulletins for my wife's Durango and my Jeep. That was free. What does the $20 a year get you?

It _should_ get you actual hard repair info: torque values, wiring diagrams, etc.
I got a report for my other Jeep ('91 wrangler 2.5l 5 speed) which was quite impressive. It had _lots_ of good diagrams for wiring and parts assembly. _WAY_ better than the red aftermarket manual. Easily worth the $20.
On the other hand I just ordered for a '82 or so Cherokee. I've just bought an '81. It sucks! It's basically only got the TSBs and recalls. I may have mised something usefull (I'll look at it again) but it didn't seem to be anything usefull for a DIY mechanic.

Marty.

we use alldata at work (im a mechanic) and i've also used factory manuals and you just would not believe the amount of data that the factory doesn't release to the aftermarket! especially with newer computerized cars. i've looked for information on alldata that i know for a fact was in the factory manuals at the dealership and as far as alldata is concerned it didn't even exist. and alldata simply doesn't compile information for older vehicles. their software is designed for the mechanic and the average vehicle age in a repair shop is 4 - 7 years. ive called the alldate hotline that our work subscribes to and they just simply don't have the info. so i guess what i'm saying is that it might not be worth the $20 per year for an older vehicle but be useful for a newer one.
