So, like I mentioned in my other post, I'm trying to bring the GW up to smog spec. Problem is I'm not sure what all I'm supposed to have, and was hoping you guys could check my list.

I have put on the Edelbrock headers with AIR pipes, and a check valve on each. Next will be to run tubes from the valves to the AIR pump I assume? I don't have an AIR pump so I'll be picking one of those up. But where else do the hoses from the pump run to? If anyone has pics those would be helpful.

I'll be getting a high-flow catalytic converter put on. According to the sticker, it's supposed to be a 3-way cat? Where do I run the tube to on the cat?

Besides those major items, I have a bunch of vacuum hoses to replace... I think all the hookups are still where theyre supposed to be.

Anything else?

From the air pump, the hose goes to a control valve. From the valve, one hose comes off to a T. From the T, a hose runs to each airtube. The other hose coming off the control valve goes to the downstream tube that connects to the cat. You should have a total of three check valves, one on each airtube and one at the beginning of the downstream tube. You can fabe a downstream tube out of copper tubing.

That was all from memory of my '90 - so I may be off a little.

Have a look here: it'll show you what goes where.

Thanks... anyone know where I can get the "air control valve" that hooks up behind the air pump?

You probably won't find one at the dealer any more (correct me if I'm wrong) and they'd charge out the wazoo, nor would I try a chain store.

I was parts hunting this weekend in a boneyard that had several Wagoneers. 3 of them still had the smog stuff, including the "air control valve" still on them.

Being as you are from California , I would hasten to guess that most if not all of the Wagons in your local yards will have the whole system still on them (provided the engine is still in the truck).

So, to answer your question, check the bone yards.

Check the bone yards. I have one in a yard close to me as well so pm me if you need one. I could ship it to you. I feel your pain. We have to follow your standards.

Air control (a/k/a "diverter" valves) show up on ebay from time to time.

You can also ask anyone who is parting a rig to pull one. Get all the AIR rubber tubes while you are at it; they cost $$$.
