ANYBODY KNOW THE PAINT MANUFACTURE CODES FOR:
JAMAICA BEIGE
AND
COPPER BROWN METTALIC.
IT'S FOR A 1982 TWO TONE WAGONEER BROUGHAM.
THANX IN ADVANCE!!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!
Your going to prolly need to find a sympathetc(pathetic?)dealer. The color codes used to be in the factory TSM's giving the code number and then to look up in the parts manuals which actually give you the mix codes from Ditzler, Sherwin-Williams, DuPont etc but that ended in 1980. After 1980 the codes are in some "special book" which I've never seen and I don't even know what it's called. If you find a FSJ color code from 1962-80 you like...I can give you the mix codes but for an 82 you're stuck with the dealer unless someone on this forum has that special little book.

DEAR JEEPGODS,
I CANT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I WOULD APRECCIATE
IF YOU DID THAT FOR ME.
ARE YOU ANYWHERE NEAR MILFORD PA. OR PORT JERVIS N.Y.??????
THANX , MATT
I don't see a Jamaica anything listed in the 80 and earlier codes I have but I only went back 5 years or so. There is a Copper Brown Metallic used in 1980 though.
The AMC ID code for it was 1E. That translates into Ditzler's mix code of 3370, DuPont's mix code of C8194 and Sherwin-Williams mix code of 35.31507. Don't know if it's the same paint for 82...<shrug>?
Ya might just call a fairly large volume auto body/paint shop that handles those 3 brands of paint. I'm sure they have cross reference/year/vehicle/paint codes also...

MY DEALER BROCURE FOR 1983 SHOWS THE COLOR
COPPER BROWN METTALIC AS 1E ALSO, SO THEY MUST HAVE USED THAT COLOR FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
THE PAINT MANUFACTUER CODES IS WHAT I NEEDED.

I used have worked at several different parts stores in the past, one of them was CarQuest. They mix paint, and had quite a few books to get the color, and the codes to mix it as well. I would think that if you found a paint supplier, or a large auto parts store that mixes paint, they would have the codes you need!
(If you know of a vehicle with the color you want, they also have a device that "reads" the color and downloads the mixing formula). However, custom mixed paint like that is very pricey. And of course, you gotta get the vehicle with the color you want TO the store. Just my two cents worth. ;)

Wingo, I'll tell you after the weekend. As soon as I can tear myself away from this forum, I'm on my way to the shop to begin the mudwork & primer processes. I expect I'll get me a good idea how much of the basecoat/clearcoat I'll need after I've laid down the final coat of primer.
