My new GW does NOT like to start when it's cold out! It takes a good minute or two of off and on cranking to get it going. Once it's started, it runs fine and starts back up easily. I'm sure some of you have seen this before, so kindly point me in the right direction.
TIA!

Accellerator pump actually squirts gas into carb throat when pedal is pumped?

Choke linkage free, choke sets as it should?

"HOT" spark from coil?

Air filter semi-white (Not filthy, good air flow)?

Let's see, fuel, heat, air ...timing. That should do it. ANybody Else?

i just got my gw to start cold after 3 years of trying. i would say first to check if the choke closes properly. first cold start next time press the acclerator down once. then see if the choke closes. if it does not close the manually press it down and see if it closes. if it does close turn the motor over and see if it starts. get back to us and let us know

is this a v8 or I6?

benjaminI'll try that. It DOES seem choke-related...
BTW, it's a 360 w/Motorcraft 2-bbl.

Easy $5 fix, preheater hose from the exhaust manifold to intake? How about the flap that that opens when the engine is up tp heat?
Get a Hayne book, the first chapter has all of these checks.
