Distributor cap moves??Missing parts???

My dist. cap moves on the dist. it seems i am missing the little block that makes the dist. cap lock into place.With the cap off i can see two knotches in the dist. a big one and a smaller one, and under one of those their is a little hole. It looks like a screw hole maby this is where the block attaches that fits into the knotch on the cap that keeps it in place. Has any one had this problem???

Hasn't happened to me. Clips should be able to locate and hold it until you can fix it. Just check the clips aren't weak. Maybe a visit to the junkjard.

yep. forgot to take the block off the old distributor when i bought a replacement. i just went back to the store and got it. you can make a block if you have to out of a piece of aluminum.
