Add a Leafs

My wife is going to give me a set of add a leafs for Christmas! Will I need longer shocks, or any other modifications to make this work?
About my user name, yeah I know the 82 is not a Grand Wagoneer, I was in a hurry.

About a month ago, I completed the installation of the Rough Country AAL and shocks. I ordered everything from JC Whitney for a little over $ 200.00. The lift increased my height 2 1/4". I would recomend longer shocks.

Also, make sure you replace all your teflon/plastic pads between each leaf.

Wingo Thanks for the post with all the pics, shows detail about the placement of the leafs.
I,ve got the Rancho soft ride add a leafs sittin on the family room floor (yes wife's naggin to get em out). I would like to know where you got the teflon pads? Sounds like a good idea to replace them!

I purchased mine from a local spring shop. I just brought a few of the pieces of what was left and matched them up there.

This shop does work on our trucks at work. You may also want to try:

1- Shock Boot Black JCW Catalog # 73UE0003W, RC # 87159 (black) 4 @ $ 3.39 ea. ($ 13.56).

2- Nitro 900 Shock (order plus 3") JCW Catalog # 55UE539X, RC # 9102 4 @ $ 25.48 ea. ($ 101.92)

3- Rear AAL 2.25" X 20-5/8", JCW Catalog # 81UE1024A, RC # 6104W, kit (two leaf, spring pack bolt) ($ 29.74).

4- Front AAL 2.5" X 43.75", JCW Catalog # 81UE1029P, RC # 6110W , kit (two leaf, spring pack bolt & straps) $ 46.74.

The total cost including shipping and handling from JC Whitney was $ 210.46.

That's the exact setup I need. What length shocks should I use? Are the Nitro 9000's you bought too short, or did I misunderstad your post?
