1339 fluid change

ok, another dumb question from me...how hard is it to change the fluid in the 1339 borg warner? Is refilling it a pain? where are the drain/fill holes? and yes i know not to use tranny fluid in it

You'll need to loosen the 5 bolts that hold the reduction unit on to drain it. The QT drain is on the back pass side down low.
The reduction unit fill plug is on the back pass side of the unit mid-high. Fill it first. The QT fill plug is in the middle of the QT unit on the back a couple inches up from the bottom. Once you actually get under the rig it's all pretty obvious.

if it has not been converted to part time 4x you will need quadra-trac fluid from the dealer

yep, just got back from jeep dealer, quadra trac fluid in hand, jeep is cooling in the shade waiting for me to start workin on it...

ok, checked the chain tension while changin case oil, almost a inch play so time to replace it, any idea's where a good one is?

I believe BJ's Offroad carries the Morse chain which seems to be preferred. River Beast also found a Spicer chain somewhere if I recall, but give BJ's a call for sure. Be sure to tell them you're a member of IFSJA.

called BJ's, he just ordered some more quadra trac chains friday so i'll buy one from him soon. Stealership wants 340$ for one,OUCH and NO WAY!!
but after i get one from bj's i'll replace it in my front yard. and dont let me get into how the stupid mechanic was gona pour tranny fluid in it this morning, is why i did it myself, was a good argument over it though with him.

ok, i need to replace my chain but the woman says not in her yard so i gota find a place to make a mess. But i'm not gona order the chain for at least another week or so...
