Just got back from Bakersfield today, this weekend is the half price sale June 16,17,18 at the Union Ave Pick-a-part. (All parts half price.) The old 74 wag that was there is gone, however there is a fresh 73 J-4000 (GVW6000) with a straight body and a lot of good parts on it. It arrived apparently on the 15th and had already had the carb taken.
It's a yellow/black two tone truck with 360-t-400-d-20 rig and some crappy pipes sticking up through the floor as an attempt at twin-stick. The interior has aftermarket carpet, but the seat is in pretty good condition, some sort of split back single bench. The steering column is tilt but that and the dash has been brush painted black. The machine turned style gauge cluster looks pretty decent, it was tempting to take.
I took the electric clock and also the timing cover and fuel pump. The alternator, flex-fan, radiator all look pretty good. It's a 4bbl manifold, no smog pump, power brakes, power steering, drum brakes. The bed looks fairly decent and would you believe it has a TAILGATE!! The tailgate is a bit banged up but with some body work and straightening would probably be OK for a daily driver.
There are also some wagon wheel tires and rims in the bed. The razor grill looks pretty good but someone cut one of the grill teeth for some reason. There is a faded paint round red-white-blue JEEP badge on the grill.
Someone also got the heater box.
Sorry no photos, didn't want to lug the camera along with the tools.
As you enter the yard, it's over on the back wall to the left in the truck section.
