Hey guys (and gals),
I searched the forum for newbie etiquette rules. I didn't see any. I'm not sure if we are supposed to introduce ourselves with pictures or if we are supposed to email the pictures to Tad for him to post in the 'Readers Rigs' area. I will post a couple pictures here, if they are in the wrong place, I apologize. (So I'm apparently retarded. I'll post pictures when I figure out how to resize them to acceptable limits and have them bigger than a thumbnail.)
She is a 1980 J10. I've been waiting to post this because I'm not sure of the specifics. I have been in the process of buying the rig for 9 months. The owner and I worked out a deal that he would have all of the work done and I would pay the total amount when it was finished. (We are trading my 1970 404.1 Unimog with a 300-6 motor conversion for the J10) The truck is about 75% complete. Most of the body work is finished. The rims are blasted and being painted. The tires will be 33x12.5 Wrangler Duratracs. The motor and transmission were both newly rebuilt. The motor is a 258 specifically re-built for torque. The clutch was custom built to specification (the owner owns a couple tire/auto shops and races for fun). I am swapping the pig nose grille out for a razor. I am having the camper shell painted to match. The interior needs some love. I'll be tackling that after I take possession. I had hoped to drive her to OK this week, but we were unable to finish the work in time.
