I'd have to say dealer. I've never seen that offered anywhere.
Is that a W/T you're restoring?

yea 79 wt. I checked several sources and dont seem to see anything like it. its almost like a foam tape with a plastic sheet backing.

If it is body seam sealer you should be able to get it at NAPA or one of the others they have it available. Purchased some for an old dart once from that place. Do not know what sources you tried so it could be moot point.

fsjnovice, I really dont know what its called. its the black strip of tape looking stuff that runs over the pinch seam hidden in the picture by the black tape.
Quartermaster good link. Kind of hard to tell fromt he pic if its the same thing although from the description it is. I will have to measure and let everyone know if 7/8in is the correct size

crazy , i dont know for sure but all indications show the crome trim around the rear window has never been off. im gonna hit the junkyard on sat and see if others have it there or not. i have been figting wether or not i wanted to pull it off as i hadnt figured out a way to replace it.

My W/T has it too RG...Probably wont find it...Possiblly could use some 7/8 pinstripe tape, but wouldnt be thick enough..Maybe use 3-4 layers...I believe it was used as a sealer for the pinch strip, and a cushion for the clips...Thats my guess...I removed mine and and probably wont worry about replacing it...

Hey 4x4 I took a look at mine tonight and that link above looks like an almost exact replacement for it. i just need to check the thickness of it since stock seems to be a foam backed tape

Yea seen that RG...That stuff is 20 mils thick and stiffer, not as flexable, and doesnt really have a skin on it...
It needs to wrap around the pinch strip....Our stuff is about the same thickness, but is very flexible, self sticks, and has a skin on it...I know youve seen the stuff in that link on new car jambs, trunk jambs....The auto MFR's are now using tape as seam sealer...maybe worth trying though...Maybe go to a paint store and see if they got some...

4x4 yea the measurements are are right the tape is 7/8th i checked with the ppg guy and he kinda gave me a blank stare lol. u can tell by the pic that mine is pretty tore up so im gonna have to figure something out.
on a seperate note you see the other piece of crome in the pic? the one in the window. is yours riveted on? any ideas about removing it or am i better off leaving it alone since on mine it doesnt apear to be a rivet all the way through.
