tow package a/b option ?

How do you determine if you have tow package a or b on a 1989 Grand Wagoneer?

So what is the difference between a and B?

I believe package A is the 3500lb class-II setup, which has a triangular hitch setup. Package B is the 5000lb class-III setup, where the hitch is U-shaped and mounts along the framerails.

OK, Dr. Bob. You seem to be in the "know" on this. If My waggy has a factory 5000 lb. hitch, can I assume it has a factory tow package? (boy is that a strech or what?)

If it also has the factory relay box on the rear crossmember, the factory tranny-cooler and the 3.31 axle-ratio, then most likely (as the package consisted of those four components).
