Hey folks,
I do a lot of driving around Missouri for my work, hermann to St Louis to barnhart, and down by the lake. If anyone is close by to any of those areas I'd love meeting up and checking out there rigs. My 84 GW isn't quite ready for the driving, nor is my gas funds but if we all wanted to do that meet and greet somewhere I'd try to have it ready by then.

Just a thought.

I would be in for a group meet. I live in St. Louis (in Westport area). I am starting to get a little bummed out...can't remember the last time I saw another FSJ around town.

I drive around a fair amount so would be willing to go outside STL, just need to track down an electrical demon first... Or Betty may be stuck far from home. (Or I could just take the wife's car but that is no fun...)

Hillbilly it's been years since I've eaten there but definitely ready to go back! Glad to see some fellow Missourians piping up, it'd be cool if we could find somewhere to go!

What part of Wyoming are you in?

I spent a couple months out by Kaycee-Casper area when I was 16 working on at Willow Creek Ranch. It was awesome out there... Desolate... but awesome lol

So far all is well, insurance company has been amazing! Week after tornado got married, and amazingly her dress wasn't destroyed and most the decorations were salvagable....we are very fortunate and will make the most of this and turn it into a good thing in the end....just takes time....

I am located halfway between Springfield and St. Louis, so can go either direction for a get together.

Hey man do you need a good frame for your rig? Unfortunately I just sold my 88 J20, but I have a long wheelbase J10 that I was going to yank the drivetrain from and part out... currently a 258 4 spd, but easy enough to make work for your J20... same frame, just need to get the engine frame horns for your V8 and you're good to go! I hate to see a good J20 go to waste!

Also have a perfect Wagoneer frame sitting on a trailer right now, in case you wanted to make a "short" J20 using you current stuff.

Either way, hope you can make something work for you from somewhere!

I did get the truck started. It's ugly underneath. Cab is a lot worse than I thought, too. Might be able to pull out the seats without unbolting them. :¦

I used to live in O'Fallon, IL just 15 minutes from St. Louis, so I'm not entirely new to the state. I used to catch them Cardinal games before and after the new stadium.

Where's a good place to meet, camp, offroad, etc, ? Perhaps down around the Ozarks? Let's start gathering input and see if something comes about by summer.

SMORR is an awesome place and is pretty good for doing events... they have primitive and Hookups for camping, a really nice shower/restroom facility and more trails than you can run in a weekend! Almost every obstacle has a bypass and there an onsite grille. Also, Seymour, MO is less the 10 minutes away if you want a Hotel or store. Been featured in 4WOR and other publications and even hosted the Ultimate Adventure a couple of years ago.

Let me know if you guys want to do a big weekend here as I live close by and know guys that work there.

Guess I need to hurry up and get my 2 post setup if we are going to have a MO chapter with wrenchin sessions!

Anyone from the SW MO area going to Ouray this year?

j2sax
03-17-2013, 10:07 PM
Yup... I will be heading that way, though likely going early so I can make a few calls along the way and kill 2 birds with one stone... Garden/Dodge City are 2 stops I am supposed to make for my job, but they are 8 hours away, so I hit them on the way to Ouray if going South or I visit Hays if I go North!

When will you be heading out?

He Bantam, I live just S of Springfield between OZark and Sparta... give me a PM and let's grab some lunch sometime!

Over the years, I have tried organizing gatherings in the areas that I frequent (St Louis, KC, Wichita) but the only place it seems to have garnered results is in ST Louis where there are a few of us, combined with some AMC guys get together for Dinner, probably monthly.

Would be great to do the same for the Springfield area... maybe pull in Joplin as well, since we are all so close. There's that big restaurant in the middle of nowhere on I44... think on the far side of Mt Vernon from Springfield... Annies maybe? It's on the South Side of I44 and advertises "Home Cooking"... sort of a log cabin, looking place.

Maybe we could all meet out there sometime...

Also, I am a member of a couple of Jeep clubs locally, the Ozarks Jeep thing club (based in Springfield and on Facebook) and the Christian Crawlers club (out of NWA but starting a chapter here) I am the ONLY FSJ representative and would be cool to have some other Big Jeeps on file!

Feel free to reach me here or on j2sax@yahoo.com to strategize.. or if you needs parts, vehicles, whatever!

Jesse

Oh, and, if we wanted to get together for a trail ride, I often lead rides down the "FIre Roads" in Chadwick.. Stock FSj's can do it no problem, though some areas might scratch the sides up a bit.

Also frequent SMORR, though not in an FSJ for awhile... been rolling in XJ's lately for Gas, but will be in the Rhino Wag this weekend for the Ozarks Jeep Thing Big Brothers Run (taking kids and sponsors from the Big Brothers program out on the trails... should be fun!)

We could do a run to stretch the legs of your Low ranges just for the fun of it!

Have a great week,

You're no the only one. I'm just really busy and have no social life. Plus, my fsj is more of a pipe dream right now.
