Help Help Help! I Love my 82 Wag.. I have put sooo Much money in it the Last 2 years.. and I had my Engine rebuilt several months ago & It hasn't run for more than 2 weeks at a shot.. The Mechanic doesn't care...It keeps Dying for no reason...Just Cuts out & Dies...Seems to be on the Decel...I have Replaced the Coil.. the battery..Reattached Allll kinds of stuff that hey left undone when I got it back from them..2 Days ago I thought I had it iced ( and I might) I thought it was a Problamatic EGR valve.. so when I took it off I discovered a Greased ball bearing in the Line on one side!So I Blocked the EGR valve .. and it seemed to Run Killer!while doing all of this I noticed a Line from the Tranny to the Carb was not attached ( Like thing 20 that was not....They even ran my fuel line over the Exhaust Manifold & Zip-tied it to an Aluminum covered hose!) So I reattached it.. and it ran killer!.....Then the really truely horrifying part.. I was backing out of my driveway.. and it felt like I hit something (The Truck stopped as if i had) So I rolled forward & couldn't see anything...Put it back into reverse...And continued to roll forward! Reverse is Gone! I had the Tranny rebuilt 2 years ago....Hellllp! Any suggestions will be so Verry welcomed!I am a Female.. and am having a hard time getting any kind of straight answers from Mechanics (Treating me like some idiot!) I gotta get my Truck back up!
Thanks!
P.s. Also having trouble with our other jeep.. so look for that post too redface.gif (

First things first...contact the shop that did your engine rebuild and start raising h3ll...I KNOW California has to have pretty strict customer protection laws. On the transmission...who performed the rebuild? If it was an independent shop you may be able to convince them to give it a once-over, but I doubt you have a warranty anymore.

I hate to say it, but if you're going to a mechanic have a male friend go with you. My mom went through a similar runaround with her mechanic in VA, whose negligence caused her to have to replace the entire top end of the motor in her car. I wish I could help more.

Good luck!
