Hey all, have a question that you guys might be able to figure out.
I have an 82 wagoneer, with an automatic transmission. I need to find out which transmission i have, if anybody knows. I know its either a 999 or a 727. The transmission pan is a square, with one of the corners "cut off." The new filter that we got for it, had a gasket for that shape, and the other transmission, which looks to be a square, with an extra "appendage" at one corner. But my transmission is the one with the corner cut. Any ideas? Also, I don't have an inch pounds torque wrench, so I am trying to adjust the bands, with foot pounds. But I need a conversion for it. Any ideas on that as well are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Torque convsion:

in-pound = the torque of 1 lb of force applied one inch from the center.
foot=pound = 1 lb one foot from center.

So 12in-lb = 1 foot-lb of torque.

Most likely you have a 727. From memory the pan
is square with one corner bobbed.
