Hey All,
Just wanted to vent just spent the last 3 hours trying to set up this intake. what is the trick? If I can get away with the rubber and just use black rtv That would be better right?

Thanks

Paul

Yes forget about the Rubber ends. Clean both ends, block and intake well and lay a thick bead along both ends on the block, 1/4" or so, let set for a bit then set the intake straight down.

well that would of been alot easier than fighting it the last couple hours.
Now I need a new valley pan gasket as they are a crush gasket?
Black RTV be OK?

Yea if you crushed or damaged the valley pan in anyway now is the time to replace it. RTV is all I have ever used, never a leak. Use BLACK though.

well, I torqued the bolts down before I noticed it out.
What is the torque sequence on the intake bolts?
So new pan it is and use the Ultra Black and all is well?

Once its torqued its done, so yea new gasket and the Black RTV, I snug all the bolts down and torque 1/2 value from center out, then retorque to full value

Is that center out one side at a time,
or do you rotate out in a circle?

Hard to explain but start in the center, then one forward of center then one rear of center opossite side kinda criss cross side to side. Not sure that is per AMC manuals but its how I have always put intakes on and never a problem.
