I am looking at a '65 with no engine. It has the TH400, and used to have the 327.
Does anything bolt up to this TH400 directly (even a 6-cylinder)? If not, what is the simplest option to get a decent engine in this thing?
Thanks,
Dave

I would opt for the Buick 350. You would need the adapter to go between the engine and trans, as well as the frame towers for the motormounts. (All these parts I have) With the adapter you could actually use any BOP patern engine, Buick, Pontiac, Olds, Cadillac. The options are endless.

If you don't mind my asking, how much for a set of them there frame towers? I have the truck with a 327, I have a buick 350, I have the adapter, I know I need some mounts, what else will I need? Excuse the ignorance, but do I use the flexplate and converter off the Buick? (The 350 is currently residing in a 71 LeSabre and mated to a th350). Sorry to jump on your post Dave, but you may be asking these same questions at some point.
