I knew I shouldn't have started so late on it last night. I ran into some problems, I'll try and be brief: (89 GW)
1. Using MSD Universal wires, (man those take a while to make). Got the straight end for plug end not 90. It is really tight getting those on. Should I have used 90 degree plug side?
2. Used IrBob's site and part's list. (this was a big help), but found that the cap the parts store gave me was all wrong. It's the kind that has 4 high terminals and 4 low terminals and requires one of those double contact rotors. In my haste I didn't see this and turned her over expecting to be done and after scratching my head on the firing order for a sec. pulled the cap and realized that the rotor hit resistence and striped. No damage to the cap. - which will get replaced tonight along with the rotor. Is it possible that I damaged the dist? My hope is that the dist's. metal gears are a lot stronger than the plastic rotor which gave. (I know it's my fault for not double checking, but this is the same parts person who has given me wrong stuff in the past. Arrghhh.
3. I got the dist. curve spring people have mentioned, but didn't look too closely to where it goes. Is it deep inside the dist.? I couldn't see a way to get below the ?plate? where the spring might be.
Thanks.
