I'm having a vacuum problem with my Wag. The heater won't switch to defroster. And when I brake for an extended length of time (like, say, a long downhill) I lose power boost. Very distracting when you're towing another Wag on a trailer approaching a stoplight.

Are these problems related? Insufficient vacuum? How do I diagnose this?

I sprayed carb cleaner around the engine compartment while running to see if it'd get sucked into the engine. It didn't.

I resealed the intake manifold a month ago and I'm still wondering if I created an internal vacuum leak. It looks like I've still got an oil leak at the front of the manifold...

There is a check valve (plastic) and rubber gromet in the brake booster. Check or replace both as well as the hose to the manifold.
