With a 117" wheel base, well that's bigger then a Waggy ain't it?

Well, some claim that the CJ-10 and FC-150 & 170 are FSJ's. I think that eventually, it will be accepted as a FSJ.

It's the old Harley big twin/sporty argument. It does'nt matter how big the engine displacement or what size tires it can run, if it's based off the baby jeep design, it will always wear the baby jeep label. The Cj-10 had an FSJ frame and drivetrain IIRC. Course it is a nice looking rig.

looks like its more of a scrambler type jeep then a full size jeep.

Nope, no way. Its a baby jeep, just longer. Does it really matter though? If they were less expensive, I'd get one. Plenty of online sites for our little brothers to go.
I like playing with him, but I don't want my little brother following me around everywhere. Ya know?

I don't know, I follow what's said about based off a baby jeep, but then if it ends up being built by the factory eventually and comes with the V8, 35" spare, optional D60 and 38" tires I think it lost it's baby face.
Like to see a full length roll cage with safari rack up top.
These guys out in Montana took the Wrangler where even AMC didn't see to go... heck of a Jeep, Bast... child or not.

Nope! It's just a big baby Jeep! :D
Nope, the technical definition of a FSJ included the model years and the nameplate being a Jtruck Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, or the M* military trucks. CJ-10's and FC's are not FSJ's either, but nobody else will take them in so we do :D

FC's certainly count as honorary FSJ's smile.gif

In my humble opionion, I would think that unless Daimler comes out with a Jeep based on the Dodge fullsize truck platform, there will never be another FSJ.
heres a homemade thing

I think I would rather find a used CJ-8 and build it up with all the right parts and still be about $18,000 ahead.

Also, the brute is not the new wrangler, it's a conversion from an aftermarket co.
This is the new wrangler:

Right Panther, it's not a factory Jeep.... yet.
'74 Wag, these guys took the Brute where AMC didn't know it could go... into FSJ territory. The arguments are good that it is based on a "baby" jeep so it won't fit into FSJ category no matter what they do to it, I'll give you that.
It's kinda like Harleys are still Harleys even after AMF took over, right?
Anyway, they have their own board for "baby" jeeps.... even though they don't categorically belong with FSJs I hafta say that if one of those buggers pulls up alongside your swamped fullsize, towers over you then pulls around front into deeper gumbo to haul you out through the mess you sunk into I don't think "baby" applies anymore. I can certainly see that happenin', nice as they built this thing up it out to be even more sought after then the Landcrusier pickup.

That was a good one :D got a good laugh out of that comment
Like I said, DC will NOT be making the Brute, say all you want ;)

I wasn't directin' that comment at anyone specifically, just meant I could see it happening and figure it would be a humbling experience (having sunk my old Chief past the floors).
It may be literary hype, but the article did suggest that Chrysler may be considering building... and/or may have contributed to the Brute's development.
At any rate I'm glad to see some innovation out there because the last thing we need is washed out Jeeps lookin' more like grocery getters then mud slingers. Maybe some day we'll get us a new J truck built to bruise and they'll slap a new cast AMC block in it with aluminum heads and TPI, even put the visor back over the windshield where it belongs. Yeeha!
Realized awhile back I should have posted this on the discussion board rather then in tech, I just spend all my time in here, sorry about that.
