Just started to have a hard time shifting into 3rd, then tonight it began slipping from 3rd to 2nd with no power getting past the transmission. It's a TF998 which I think is nearing the 200,000 mile mark and 26 year operation.
So yeah, time to go to the junk yard and scrounge for a transmission :D

I believe there are a couple of 727s in the U-Pick-It here. Last time I was out there, there was like 4-6 GWs, I just dont get there very often.

CJ, you did check the fluid levels, right?I always do. I notice that my fluid on the dip stick has a bit of greyness to it. My buddy also said it should be time to change the fluid and filter since the last time I did was November.

Check CL. Was some 727s on there recently. You got a lot of miles out of it already so consider it a job well done. Never had good luck with 998 or 904. Never had bad luck with 727. Or you could buy my waggy for $1500 and put your goodies on it and I can pay off my loan (lol. ).

Typically only need to change it every 30K unless you have been harsh on it or dunked it.

The crap Chrysler Auto is going out in my project 1994 grand Cherokee (I6 aswell). A manual swap would be the only way to go IMO.
