They both have 8.35:1 compression and 4bbl manifolds. Apart from having different width timing chains can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Z code and the T (which is the "heavy duty"?
I am going on the assumption that the Z code was probably put in Cherokees and Waggys, and that the T code went in..... trucks. But are there any essential differences? As far as I know, the only 4 bolt mains were afer market. Was the crank web heavier on the T code?
Anyone know?

Z code only. I never heard of the T code in an FSJ.

There was a T code in '71 - '74 standing for 134 cid 4 cylinder engine. And some VIN's used a T as the third digit standing for Truck. Also some used a T as the 11th digit standing for Toledo.
None of this has to do with the 401 however.

I never heard of it either, just saw it in the engine code section on this site and thought I'd missed something. It was referring to the digits on the valve cover tab.
Anyone know if the Miloden 4 bolt main caps can still be had?
Thanks guys!

Oh yeah, Howdy Frank.... been 22 years since I've been in Norway. I'm an Alaska, but you sure have some pretty country over there. Let me know if I can source any parts for you.
